Return to Me
I whispered my wish
To a butterfly
Beneath a pulsating sky
I watched it float away
Like a nervous little letter
Begging for pleasure
And the return of you
The blood in my veins
Flows with what I don’t divulge
All my uncertainty
Draping over my thoughts
Wondering if you’ve heard
The wail of my soul
While I’m under the moon
Insistently sobbing
My heart ever searing
Comparing
Always comparing
The grass moves in a tease
And so weakening my knees
I fall in my exhaustion from you
Crying softly
Whatever you do
Please, see what I see
Please…
Return to me
