Anything
When you go for a walk
After the driving rain
I’ll trail behind you
Like the sunken mud
And every time the breeze blows cold
You shall hear me weep
But pretend as though
You don’t
When you sit outside
To farewell the day
I’ll lie above you
Like a restless star
And when you realize my beauty near
For an instant
You will care
But act as though
You don’t
And on the day of your picnic
When she matches the posies
I’ll slip in your pocket
Like a tiny clock
And as you whisper to her
I want time to stop
I shall try with my might
To not be still
But for you
I know
I will
You see, my love
Thee irony
Of loving one who is set free
And yet I find only more to adore
Loving you deep
Though confined to your shore
For someday you shall love me too
And I’ll wait until
You do
I walked up to your ghost today
I tapped it on the shoulder and said
Hey, remember me?
Your eyes sawed through my core
And you enticingly replied
Of course I do
I embraced that sentence
Its structure instantly mending
A broken part of me
I touched your arm
Your eyes followed in a silent response
I felt a heat well up in me
At first reserved
But then I recalled
My teasing is what made you go away
I quickly grasped your arm
My knees hid their fragile form
With a beckoning pull and a pretty sway
I whispered
I need this; I’ve been aching for you
You brushed my cheek with your thumb
Take it; I’ve been aching for you too
I kissed you as though a vow
My heart’s drone changing
Into a familiar tune
And soon
You took control
Biting my lip
Wrapping your hand behind my neck
Pulling me as close as you could achieve
I could feel your attitude
Sifting through
And immediately
I was one with you
But instead of relieving more desire
I felt what I had done to you
My thrashing words
Stuck to the back of my throat
All my need for making you sore for my devotion
Rummaged through my soul
Propelling your pain in every direction
You looked at me as if troubled
My shame burbling out, bright red
I shook my head
I’m so sorry
I never knew
You glided over me
As thunder clapped
And a façade of pleasantries
Fell from your eyes
And the part of me that you had just mended
Died

The beautiful art accompanying this poem is entitled Summer by Niculina Florian
Summer Moon
I made up my mind such a long time ago
But you never seem to care
I told you there is no room for your words
But you secretly leave them there
And I’ve diaries of your promises
Flying above my head
But in my nightstand I’ve the headstones
For each one is dead
I have a summer moon
An endless summer moon
Residing above my bed
For even a half of a chance is too much
And even a skim of a finger is a touch
That you can not have
That you shall not give
Unbridled passion shall never be lived
With you
You claim I’ll regret
I have not been fair
I try with my might
But produce not one tear
Just go, ride along
On your rode of deceit
I pray for the girl that next
You will meet
May she see all the lies in your confident swoon
God speed her the truth, ever soon
And with it, her own summer moon
