Lollipops arched the sky
Through the course of the day
We leaned into midnight
Hushed pleasingly with its sight
The sound of skating
Is through our thoughts
The ornament of each spin
Curves our backs – Statuesque
And then we lied, to rest
But as I was almost sleeping
Untying a satin dream
I turned to see a suggestion
You smirked – a soundless mention
I closed my eyes, tired, dismissing
But what – with your strong convincing
Your romance is not to fend
And so, to blush
I bend
You First
I love you mostly always
Sometimes
When you find me in the air
And pull me down, so strong
You take hold of my hand
And I crave to come along
You lead me to the spot
Where the moon sits
And when I see it with you
It’s as if it glows for just us
You wrap around me like
A favor, a blessing, an option – I could lose
But I want to win
And I begin to love you mostly always
Sometimes
All over again

You Make Me Lovely
A shamble in my mind
And still I find
You make me lovely
I’m coming to your beck
For your kiss upon my neck
It’s just another time
You make me lovely
I don’t find the exact reason
Never mind the season
Or the day
Work or play
You make me lovely
It seems a skill you’ve honed
That fancies me to the bone
The display is in my moan
Ever still and no until
You make me lovely
In my party dress
Or a t-shirt and jeans
Analyzing and mellow
Or bursting laughter at the seams
You take it all
And it’s always, lovely
When my perfect tresses
Turn artistically wild
When the lady in me caves
And becomes a spoiled child
You never let me go
You hurriedly run and mend
And in your arms of logic
I transcend
And everything about me
Is lovely
Once again

If
If you were a farm boy
I’d hide beside the tree
You’d come to take a break
But end up kissing me
If you were a boatman
Upon the dock, I’d wait
A feverish smile when you’re on time
Hugs and banter if you’re late
If you were a painter
I’d sit contently in a chair
Watching your lovely strokes
As sun beams slivered through your hair
Oh it would never matter
Your livelihood is not love’s key
Your days would be quite different
But all the same, my love to thee
